It may not get it it right away, but I bet by the end of the ps3's life it will have sold 5 million. The second one will also cause an increased interest in the first also when it comes out probably.
I guess it is a little subjective to say that it is the best, but for me Uncharted is the game that comes to my mind when I think of the ps3.
No doubt about that. Just got my first platinum trophy after playing through that game 4 times a few days ago. I may know the storyline, but it never gets old. There is no doubt in my mind that the second game will pull me in just as in the first. Been a huge fan of Naughty Dog over the years and that is not about to change anytime soon. There work always shimmers in quality.
I remember right when this was announced people were bad mouthing FROM Software saying they were a 3rd rate studio. Whether those claims were true back I don't know, but the games that they are putting out now are creative and really good. Their name is now something that if I see a game with their name on it, I will take a second glance if I didn't give it a good look.
No numbers would make me happy too. I would prefer a good title rather than Game #7. Those numbers mess with me. If I have game #2 and #3, I have to go get #1 even if it isn't that good. Their marketing tactics work, I am their success story.
I just wish they wouldn't call it number 2. If the series comes back to the ps3 it will irk me that there will be Valkyrie Chronicles I and III with nothing in between. Likewise I will always thing I am missing the first Valkyrie Chronicles game on the psp. Otherwise, I can't wait to get this game.
I have got my eye on this game. I can't wait to see how this controls. If they are able to fluidly allow you to control the character on the screen, this could be an extremely fun game even if the story isn't good. I hope that you are able to maintain in pseudo control (or absolute), as in the camera swings back to to show your fancy move, but pulls it back to the action so it never becomes a cut scene. Sega seems to be making and publishing a lot of the more interesting games this genera...
Thanks, I forgot about the Resistance psp game until recently when I was at the store where I noticed the box and saw that it mentioned the ps3/psp connection. Hopefully Sony will play around with the idea again in the future. Bubbles for the response.
I also thought of that too, but Resistance 2 had that feature in it when it came out. Its doubtful that Kojima and his team were planning that kind of functionality a year or more ago. They would have to update MGS4 to do that, but given that there are no trophies yet it is unlikely that inter-connectivity will happen.
Anyways was the psp resistance good on the ps3? Heard about the feature before the psp version came out, but never heard anything about whether it was good or...
But then that wouldn't be ugly, and you wouldn't be tempted to buy anything.
There's just so many games though that deserve to be upgraded. I personally would love to see anything from Team Ico or Zone of the Enders to to be upgraded. Heck, the whole list and more would make me happy.
While I never really paid any attention to this series, all this talk about localization has piqued my interest in the games. Might try out the demo this weekend or pick up Yakuza 1 or 2.
Unreal Tournament will always be a PC game at heart. I remember them stating that they had to slow down the speed of the game for the consoles. Nothing beats a mouse and keyboard in that game. The mods are also one of its biggest features in my opinion. I spent many hours playing around with Unreal Tournament 2004 with all the user created content.
Even though Zero-Shift made you almost unbeatable by normal means, you only obtain this at the end of the game. I found it very satisfying when you practically fought an army by zipping around all over the place. It was just so much fun.
EDIT
Ohhh you were talking about the Zero-Shift in the multiplayer. I guess it was a little unfair in that mode.
To me that is what a racing game is. I play it to race. In all honesty, I do not know what the career mode is that everyone speaks of. I may not be a big racing fan, but when I do play those kind of games I play it for the race.
@devilhunterx
Nope, no one I know "plays" Crysis. All my friend does is turns on the frames per second and trys to see how he can optimize his settings and overclock his graphics card. ......Or shoot giant chickens with the mini nuke in the game editor.
As others have said the speed benefits from n are pretty much useless for gaming. The only real benefit is the expanded range that an n network would provide.
EDIT:
Skipped down a little to far. cgoodno has some good points up above.
More ZOE. That game was just fun to play. You felt like a god once you got the zero-shift teleport thing.
The big thing is that it outputs 720p. Not that it displays 720p on a small screen. Although outputting 1080p would be an impressive feat.
Why is Nigeria complaining, I thought the movie was set in Johannesburg, South Africa. If anyone should complain it should be South Africa.
